About Beverley Minster
Beverley Minster is the Church of England parish church of Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire, dedicated to Saint John and Saint Martin. Few parish churches in the UK are as large: it is bigger than a third of England's cathedrals, and it is regarded as a masterpiece of Gothic building. It was first a collegiate church. When the monasteries were dissolved it was passed over as the seat of a bishop, but it survived to serve the parish, losing only its chapter house and the adjoining church of St Martin among its major parts. Today it is Grade I listed and a member of the Major Churches Network.
